Skip Hire An Environmentally Friendly Way Of Disposing Of Your Waste

Now that summer is here, many people will be carrying out improvements to their homes and gardens, but will want to do it in an environmentally friendly way if at all possible. So, you’ll find many will try to use re-cycled materials wherever possible to create less of an impact on the environment. Bricks can be cleaned up and used for a new project. Soil from one area of the garden can be used to create a feature in another part and prunings from plants can be made into compost to cut down on waste. However, you are inevitably going to end up with waste that you can’t re-cycle yourself and may be wondering how to dispose of it. You could just load up the boot of your car and pay a visit to your local tip, however this could mean many, many trips  which is not the “greenest “ way of doing it. A far better and more environmentally friendly way would be to consider hiring a skip for a short time allowing all the waste to be disposed of in just one trip.

Talk to your local skip hire company and they will be able to recommend the best size for your requirements. Skips come in a range of different sizes and start at 2 yds (ideal for a small garden clearance) right up to 14 yds which would be far too big for the usual domestic use, and a variety of sizes in between. Ideally it is best to locate the skip on your own land; more convenient for you when you come to fill it and also cheaper than arranging a permit with the local council in order to place it on the road outside. Just remember when filling it not to cram in too much so the waste extends beyond the top of the sides of the skip.
