How Road Mats Are An Environmental Solution

The use of road or bog mats lies in that they can be used to provide temporary working floors or temporary roads whilst work is being carried out in an otherwise unsuitable environment. This could include a particular wet or marshy area or one which has very poor access to it.

However, in addition to helping find a solution which allows people and companies to continue their work unhindered, road mats also provide an environmental solution.

Many protests by environmentalists have taken place not because of the place where work is to be carried out but because the access routes needed for the work take place may constitute a danger to the environment, natural wildlife habitats or may disturb a natural environmental hierarchy. Many of these projects have involved the need for a permanent road to be built to allow access to vehicles, working equipment and workers on a daily basis. Once the work has finished however, these permanent roads may not be needed anymore and may simply be left, causing a permanent blemish to the natural environment, as well as having destroyed the environment in the process.

However, the introduction of road mats means that these permanent roads are no longer necessary. Their strength, durability and flexibility allow for a temporary road which can be laid out when needed (or just prior to this) and then simply lifted once the work or the need for that access route has finished. They can then be reused as many are created to be used more than once.
